Sinaloan Milk Snake For Sale
Overview
The Sinaloan milk snake, or Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae, is a kind of nonvenomous colubrid snake. It’s one of the most popular milk snakes for keeping as pets. It’s a tame subspecies that rarely attacks humans. It has a warning exudate it may release from its cloaca if it is touched, however it has a strong odor that can be off-putting. The rocky and semiarid drylands of southern Sonora, Sinaloa, and southwestern Chihuahua are home to the Sinaloan milk snake (Mexico).
Appearance
The Sinaloan milk snake’s main color is a deep red, and it has black rings or bands with lighter rings or bands inside them that might be cream, white, or (occasionally) pale cream-yellow. The red rings are framed by black pigment around the ventrals’ edge, leaving the ventral triad’s white core unbroken.
The Sinaloan milk snake stands out from the rest of the subspecies due to its notably more pronounced red bands (far wider than the black bands). The top of the head is black, with a white band running just behind the eyes. The underbelly is a smooth, milky white. Adults can grow to be around 120 cm long, or perhaps longer. The Sinaloan milk snake is exceedingly nimble, as are other milk snakes.
Habitat
The semi-desert areas of southern Sonora, Sinaloa, and southwestern Chihuahua, Mexico are dry, arid, and rocky, which is where the Sinaloan milk snake calls home. During the day, they like to hide out in shady areas, such as behind cactus plants, loose boulders, or in cracks in the ground. They can also be discovered in barns and below woodpiles in rural regions adjacent to cities.
Diet
The Sinaloan snake is similar to other milk snakes in that it is nocturnal and hunts for food while it is dark. Unlike fox snakes and corn snakes, milk snakes will eat almost anything. Rodents, eggs, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates are just some of the species that have been found in their stomachs. In spite of this, rodents continue to make up the bulk of an adult milk snake’s diet.
